  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs

  • 1 (14 oz) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, parsley, cumin, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Roll into 2-inch meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs on all sides until browned (about 5 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent; add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add canned tomatoes and cinnamon stick; simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet; cover and simmer for an additional 20 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Serve with extra sauce over couscous or warm bread.
