- 1/4 cup berry syrup (made from equal parts sugar and water with fresh berries)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to package instructions by combining it with eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Pour into the prepared dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Once baked, let the cake cool for about 10 minutes, then poke holes all over its surface using a skewer or fork.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine equal parts sugar and water with fresh berries to create berry syrup. Allow to cool slightly before pouring evenly over the poked cake.
- Spread whipped topping over the cooled cake, then top with additional fresh berries and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
