- 1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- 8 oz sweetened cream cheese
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thaw the puff pastry sheets for about 30 minutes, then roll them out on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter or freehand, aiming for at least ten hearts.
- In a bowl, mix sweetened cream cheese with chopped strawberries until well combined.
- Spoon the filling onto half of the heart shapes, avoiding overfilling. Place another heart on top and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush each pastry with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
