- 1 cup fine semolina
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup water

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together semolina, sugar, baking powder, and lemon zest until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter and yogurt until smooth.
- Pour the yogurt mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the cake bakes, combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until dissolved; bring to a boil, then simmer for about five minutes.
- Pour warm syrup over the hot cake right out of the oven. Allow it to soak for at least one hour before slicing.
