  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 tbsp melted butter or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
  2. Add minced garlic and ground meat; cook until browned.
  3. Stir in cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper; cook for another 5 minutes. Mix in chopped parsley.
  4. Layer three sheets of filo pastry brushed with melted butter between each layer.
  5. Place filling along one edge of the layered pastry and roll into a tight cigar shape.
  6. Arrange cigars seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with remaining butter.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
