- 8 sheets filo pastry
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and ground meat; cook until browned.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper; cook for another 5 minutes. Mix in chopped parsley.
- Layer three sheets of filo pastry brushed with melted butter between each layer.
- Place filling along one edge of the layered pastry and roll into a tight cigar shape.
- Arrange cigars seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with remaining butter.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
