- 1 head green cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Boil the cabbage in water for about 5 minutes until the leaves soften. Carefully remove and let cool.
- In a large bowl, mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spoon 2 tablespoons of filling onto each softened cabbage leaf. Fold sides inward and roll tightly.
- Spread half of the tomato sauce in a baking dish; place rolls seam-side down and cover with remaining sauce and brown sugar.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes until heated through.
