  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 large eggs
  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a rectangular baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, sugar, baking powder, and lemon zest until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and yogurt until smooth, then mix in melted butter.
  4. Gently combine the wet ingredients with the dry mixture until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish; bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While baking, prepare syrup by boiling water and sugar until slightly thickened; stir in lemon juice after removing from heat.
  7. Pour hot syrup over the baked revani immediately and allow it to absorb for at least an hour before serving.
