- 4 large fresh oranges (zest and peels)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water (plus extra for boiling)
- ½ cup light corn syrup
Instructions
- Wash the oranges thoroughly, slice them into thin strips while reserving the peels.
- Boil orange peels in a pot of water for 10 minutes; drain well.
- In a separate pot, combine sugar, corn syrup, and reserved water over medium heat until syrupy.
- Add the boiled orange peels to the syrup; simmer on low for about an hour until translucent and sticky.
- Remove peels from the pot and place them on parchment paper; let cool for at least four hours.
- Optionally coat candies in granulated sugar before serving.
