- 1 cup glutinous rice
- 1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 ripe mangoes, sliced
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until clear, then soak it for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer lined with cheesecloth for about 30 minutes until sticky.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt until dissolved (do not boil).
- Mix three-quarters of the coconut sauce into the steamed rice and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Serve by scooping sticky rice onto plates, topping with mango slices, and drizzling with remaining coconut sauce.
