Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and ground almonds (if using).
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add sugar and mix until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, ensuring each is well incorporated.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before serving.
