Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and honey in a large bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Gently punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the shaped loaf rise again for 30 minutes before baking for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
