Ingredients
  

Rice and Chicken
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 lb chicken thighs boneless
  • 1 cup barberries
  • 1 onion large finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups water

Method
 

Preparing the Chicken
  1. Heat butter in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden.
  2. Add chicken thighs, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned.
  3. Add water and simmer until chicken is cooked through.
Cooking the Rice
  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the rinsed rice.
  3. Cook until rice is tender, then drain and let it steam for a few minutes.
Combining and Serving
  1. Mix the cooked chicken with the barberries.
  2. Serve the chicken mixture over the rice.
