Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 8 slices thick bread such as brioche or challah
Filling
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh berries optional
Egg Mixture
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Toppings
  • maple syrup to serve
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Assemble the Toast
  1. Spread the filling on 4 slices of bread and top with the remaining slices to create sandwiches.
Prepare the Egg Mixture
  1. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Cook the French Toast
  1. Heat a griddle over medium heat and dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  2. Cook on the griddle for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serve
  1. Serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar.
