Ingredients

  • 2 pounds octopus cleaned and cut into pieces
Vegetables
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium carrots sliced
  • 1 cup tomatoes chopped
Liquids
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups water
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Clean and cut the octopus into pieces.
  2. Chop the onion, mince the garlic, and slice the carrots.
Cooking
  1. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  2. Add the octopus and cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the carrots, tomatoes, red wine, and water.
  4. Add the spices and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for about 60 minutes until the octopus is tender.
