Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rice preferably jasmine rice
  • 1 lb chicken cut into pieces
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tbsp salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp ginger sliced
  • 2 green onions green onions chopped for garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Porridge
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, combine the rice, chicken, water, ginger, and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. Stir occasionally, breaking up the chicken as it cooks.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
